Jasmin St. Claire isn’t letting anyone rewrite her wrestling story, especially people who tried to reduce her entire career to one chapter.
During her conversation with Wrestling with Heart with Stanley Karr, St. Claire talked about how she first got into wrestling after already having ties to the adult entertainment world. She made it clear that people have blown that part of her life way out of proportion, saying her adult career only lasted two years while her work outside of that business has lasted much longer.
“I was in the adult business for a whole of 2 years by the way. People think I’ve had this long illustrious career. It’s like, no, I’ve had a much bigger career outside of there.”
That’s when St. Claire brought up the heat she took from younger women who tried to act like she didn’t belong in wrestling because of her past. She didn’t just brush it off, either. She fired back by pointing to her training and her time already spent in the business.
“A lot of the times when I got bullied by these younger girls, I wouldn’t even say bullied cuz they’re so stupid. You know, they want to try to hold that on me. Oh, you shouldn’t be in the business. Well, actually, I was trained by Mando Guerrero and I was doing this for a long time.”
St. Claire also explained that wrestling was always something she wanted to do, and ECW gave her the first major opening. She said ECW had connections to the company she was around at the time, and that’s how the opportunity came together.
“Actually, I always wanted to work in the business, but this opportunity came to me in the form of ECW because they were friends with that guy I worked for who had some other backyard company and so ECW’s where I worked first.”
For St. Claire, the message was pretty simple. She wasn’t some tourist walking into wrestling for attention. She had trained, she had put in time, and she wasn’t going to let anyone use her adult background as a cheap shot to erase the rest of her career.
St. Claire has clearly heard the same tired criticism for years, but she sounds done letting anyone frame her wrestling run around one part of her past. She came into the business, got trained, worked with major names, and still has plenty to say about the people who thought they could push her out.
