Last week in TNA, Broken Matt Hardy returned. This week on Impact (May 7, 2026), Jeff Hardy unleashed Brother Nero.
TNA aired a stylish promo package of the Hardys addressing the escalation in this feud with the Righteous. Broken Matt warned that the Righteous have opened Pandora’s box. Jeff wrote a song for his transition into the Broken alter ego. Jeff sang, “Brother Nero is near. Here to instill fear.” Jeff blinked to reveal creepy eyes as Matt shouted, “Delete!”
Vincent is taking this in stride. After all, this is what the Righteous wanted. He commented on social media, “One broken.. Another to reveal, give him to the world. Nobody can deny what Vincent & Dutch have created. Dig what I’m saying?”
The next step in this feud is a Wicked Garden Match to be taped from Sacramento on May 15 to air on a later date.
For those new to the Broken Universe of the Hardys, Matt explains the idea behind the character. He was inspired by vampire Eric Northman from True Blood. Matt himself obviously can’t be immortal, because his body will age over time. He pivoted to imagine that his soul is immortal living within different vessels over 2,000 years.
