UFC legend Jim Miller will fight for the record 46th time against a fellow lightweight veteran on the UFC 328 undercard.
Potential future UFC Hall of Famer Jim Miller will extend one of his records when he makes his return to the Octagon next month on one of the biggest cards of the year.
Miller, 42, hasn’t fought since a loss to Chase Hooper at UFC 314 last year. After almost a full year away from the Octagon, many questioned whether or not the legendary lightweight would appear in the cage again or hang up the gloves.
Despite a lengthy one-year hiatus from competition, Miller will extend his all-time UFC fight record when he returns to the cage at UFC 328 against another veteran in the lightweight division.
Jim Miller vs. Jared Gordon added to Khamzat Chimaev vs. Sean Strickland card
Miller will face Jared Gordon (21-8-1) on the UFC 328 undercard next month, at an event headlined by Khamzat Chimaev vs. Sean Strickland. MMA Fighting was among the first to report the news of Miller vs. Gordon’s addition to UFC 328.
Gordon returns to the Octagon after a loss to Rafa Garcia in September by third-round TKO. His most recent victory came against Thiago Moises last May.
Miller’s 47th UFC appearance will also be his 59th professional MMA fight overall, a mark unheard of in the sport today. He’s earned wins over legends like Charles Oliveira, Donald Cerrone, and Clay Guida during his illustrious career.
Before the loss to Hooper, Miller won three of his previous four fights, including finishes over Damon Jackson and Gabriel Benitez. A unanimous decision loss to Bobby Green at UFC 300 halted his momentum towards a potential Top 15 spot.
UFC 328 also features a flyweight title co-main event between Joshua Van and Tatsuro Taira. The fight was moved from UFC 327 this weekend due to a minor injury Van is dealing with.
