Joe Gacy Confirms First Post-WWE Wrestling Appearance After Wyatt Sicks Release

Joe Gacy is heading back to the independent wrestling scene after his WWE release, and he already has his first post-WWE appearance lined up.

The former Wyatt Sicks member confirmed on social media that he will appear for Wrestling REVOLVER on July 24 in Nashville, Tennessee. Gacy, now using the name “Joseph Sawyer,” reacted to the announcement shortly after it was made public.

“My first appearance is finally announced. See me in Nashville 🙃”

The Wrestling REVOLVER event, titled The Silence of the Lambs, will stream live for free on YouTube. The announcement noted that this will be Joseph Sawyer’s first independent wrestling appearance since leaving WWE.

No opponent has been announced yet for Gacy’s return match, but the event is already loaded with notable names including AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, Mance Warner, Killer Kelly and Myron Reed.

The timing of the appearance is significant because July 24 lands exactly three months after Gacy’s WWE release, making it the earliest possible date he could legally return to the ring following the expiration of his non-compete clause.

Gacy was one of several Wyatt Sicks members released during WWE’s post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts alongside Bo Dallas, Nikki Cross, Erick Rowan and Dexter Lumis. Despite the releases, the group is still scheduled to reunite for a WrestleCon appearance in Minneapolis later this year.

Before his release, Gacy and Dexter Lumis also held the WWE Tag Team Championships together during their SmackDown run.

Joe Gacy built a reputation in WWE for his eerie character work and unpredictable style, and now fans are about to find out what “Joseph Sawyer” looks like outside the WWE system. With Wrestling REVOLVER already hyping his debut appearance, his return to the independent scene is clearly getting attention fast.

What do you think about Joe Gacy returning to the indies as Joseph Sawyer, and which promotion would you most want to see him work for next? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
