ohn Cena may be done competing inside a WWE ring, but he is still giving back to the next generation of wrestlers in a major way.
The 17-time World Champion recently visited Seth Rollins’ Black & Brave Wrestling Academy in Davenport, Iowa, where he spent several hours coaching students and working directly with graduates of the school.
Black & Brave revealed Cena’s visit on social media, noting that he spent five hours teaching, answering questions and helping the academy’s developing talent. Cena then stayed for another hour to give individual time to a number of graduates. The academy expressed its appreciation for Cena making the visit and dedicating that much time to the wrestlers in attendance.
“We were honored to welcome the incomparable [John Cena] to the Black and Brave Wrestling Academy today! John spent 5 hours teaching, coaching, and answering questions and then spent an additional hour giving 1-on-1 time to many of our graduates. We cannot thank him enough for his incredible generosity.”
Cena has remained connected to WWE since ending his in-ring career. His final match took place at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2025, where Gunther defeated him by submission to bring Cena’s wrestling career to an end.
Since then, Cena has stayed out of the ring while continuing to represent WWE in an ambassador role. He also appeared at WWE Backlash 2026, where he announced the John Cena Classic.
For students at Black & Brave, getting several hours of direct coaching from Cena is the kind of opportunity that can stick with them for the rest of their careers. He may no longer be chasing championships, but Cena is clearly still willing to use his experience and name value to help future wrestlers learn the business.
