Rankings
Sivertson’s rise up the draft rankings this season was surprising. After scoring a single goal and two assists in 14 Western Hockey League (WHL) games last season, he silenced some doubters with 24 goals and 29 assists with the Prince Albert Raiders in 2025-26.
Playing on a team as good as Prince Albert, Sivertson used his strengths to his advantage. He brings size, at 6-foot-3, towering over some of his competition to make room for himself and find open spaces. He can unleash a wicked good shot from the circle in space or use his quick hands to get closer to the goalie for a better scoring chance.
Sivertson also has a very good passing game. Several times this season, he made magnificent saucer passes that hit the tape on his teammates’ sticks for prime scoring chances and one-on-one opportunities between shooter and goaltender.
The problem with evaluating Sivertson’s game is that he plays in the WHL, where he can push players around, and no one can get the puck off him. Once he turns pro, he will be playing against older and stronger competition, and he may have trouble muscling them off the puck or using his body to guard it. However, he will have a chance to improve on that when he plays for St. Cloud in the NCAA next season.

Jonah Sivertson – NHL Draft Projection
In a stacked class of wingers, Sivertson is being overshadowed by other talented players like Ethan Belchetz and Adam Novotny. But teams should like what they see from him, with his size and as close to an elite shot as you can get from a taller player. Teams should have no problem picking him in the second or third rounds of the 2026 NHL Draft.
Quotables
“Sivertson, a St. Cloud State commit, registered 63 points in 86 combined regular-season and playoff games with a Prince Albert team that went to the WHL final this year, averaging 15 minutes per game for them. He has good size. He has a good release (including in catch-and-release when he has to corral a puck and get rid of it quickly). He will play pucks into space and under triangles in transition and inside the offensive zone. He will make the second effort play. He uses his body well to win positioning or protect pucks. He’ll go to and play around the net. But slow feet out of the blocks could limit his upside and prevent him from being a penalty killer at the moment” – from “2026 NHL Draft: 30 intriguing prospects who just missed Wheeler’s final ranking,” Scott Wheeler, The Athletic, May 28, 2026.

NHL Potential
In Prince Albert, Sivertson played with many great players, like Braeden Cootes, and was a pivotal member of that team. But jumping to the NHL is no small task. He can be a useful middle-six winger who has very good offensive upside but needs help on the defensive end. He could also be used as a net-front presence on the power play.
