Joseph Woll won’t forget his time with the Maple Leafs.

A week after he was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers, Woll on Tuesday posted a goodbye to Toronto on his Instagram account.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the organization, the city, my friends and especially, my teammates for helping make my time in Toronto so special,” Woll wrote, accompanying a photo of him stepping onto the ice at Scotiabank Arena. “I have enough memories to last a lifetime. I’ll forever be proud and grateful for my time with the Leafs.”
Woll signed off with a maple leaf emoji and “Philly, get ready.”
The trade last Tuesday sent Woll and defenceman Simon Benoit to the Flyers for defenceman Emil Andrae, goalie Samuel Ersson and a third-round pick in the 2026 National Hockey League draft.
With Woll gone from Toronto, the Maple Leafs have Anthony Stolarz, Dennis Hildeby and Artur Akhtyamov heading into next season.
Interest in Bobrovsky?
With the sense that the Leafs expect nothing less than a playoff spot next spring after missing the post-season in 2025-26 for the first time in 10 years, there has been speculation that Toronto has interest in 37-year-old netminder Sergei Bobrovsky. That’s despite a tough season for Bobrovsky, who posted a career-worst .877 save percentage in 52 games for the Florida Panthers.

Bobrovsky is headed for unrestricted free agency on July 1.
Woll will turn 28 in July and couldn’t stay healthy consistently for the Leafs after Toronto picked him in the third round in 2016. In parts of five seasons, Woll played in 117 games, going 63-43-9 with a .906 save percentage.
Benoit posted to Instagram on the weekend.
“Thank you to the organization for everything on and off the ice, to my teammates, the staff, the fans for an unforgettable journey and for always making me feel at home,” Benoit said. “I will always be grateful for the opportunity the Leafs gave me! Excited and ready to give Philly everything I’ve got!”
Benoit played in three seasons with the Leafs after he was signed by Toronto in the summer of 2023, recording 21 points and 156 penalty minutes in 215 games.
