JugaMax has announced a partnership with Oddin.gg to launch esports betting in Paraguay.
The country has recently opened up its gambling market from a previous monopoly. This has allowed private companies, such as JugaMax, to launch online casino and sports betting platforms.
The partnership with Oddin, which is already a major provider of esports betting solutions in other Latin American countries, will expand the brand’s presence in esports.
“JugaMax has real weight in Paraguay’s gaming market, and the way they approach esports tells you a lot about the operator,” said Juana Bischoff, senior business development manager for LATAM at Oddin.gg.
“They have already committed to dedicated marketing activities for esports fans and are building esports into their long-term roadmap. Paraguay is going through a serious regulatory evolution right now, and working with an operator that holds itself to that standard makes this a partnership we are genuinely excited about.”
Oddin Expands International Presence
The deal with JugaMax follows Oddin securing a license in Maryland earlier this year, its seventh in North America.
The company has a wide range of betting partners, including Bally’s, Betway, Stake, theScore, and Betsson.
JugaMax said its authority in esports betting encouraged the company to form a partnership.
“Oddin.gg stood out for its technological strength, the depth of its data, and the ability to deliver dynamic real-time experiences,” said Pablo Bergesio, president of JugaMax.
“This partnership allows us to advance our innovation strategy by incorporating new verticals that respond to the expectations of today’s users. With a complete esports offering, including eFootball, we are taking another step toward a more interactive, continuous entertainment proposition that is aligned with global trends.”
Latin America Opening Up Gambling Options
In addition to Paraguay, Brazil also launched its regulated gambling market last year. Oddin also secured a license in the country to provide its proprietary feed to operators.
Brazil reported that licensed companies generated over $7 billion in revenue in their first year. President Lula, however, has recently been outspoken about the harms of gambling and is threatening to return to a state of prohibition.
Peru also began regulating gambling in 2024, adding to active markets in Mexico and Colombia. Oddin is active in providing partners with esports betting solutions in all those countries.
Prediction market platforms are also looking at Latin America as a potential region for expansion. Kalshi has partnered with XP International, one of the largest brokerage firms in Brazil, marking its first international expansion.
Forkast, an esports-focused prediction market platform, is also targeting Latin America for growth.
“We have boots on the ground, team members in Brazil, Argentina, so I think we have a real advantage, and it’s an untapped area that’s going to grow,” said CEO Chris Gonsalves.
