Kadyn Proctor earns ‘absolutely massive’ assessment from Miami OC

The Miami Dolphins added 13 players during the 2026 NFL Draft. Miami selected Kadyn Proctor in the first round, adding a talented prospect to their rebuilding offensive line. One Dolphins coach made a bold statement about Proctor following rookie minicamp.

Dolphins offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik did not hold back when describing Proctor’s size during a recent interview.

“Absolutely massive. He’s one of the biggest individuals I’ve ever seen in my life,” Slowik said on Tuesday, per Dolphins reporter David Furones. “His legs are bigger than me. But he moves like he’s 290 or 300.”

Proctor is in fact 6-foot-6 and 352 pounds, which makes him one of the bigger linemen in the NFL.

Size was never the question with Proctor ahead of the draft. Instead, scouts noted that Proctor has some inconsistencies in pass protection that need to be ironed out. If Proctor were a more polished prospect, he likely would have been one of the top picks in the 2026 draft class.

Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan already announced that Proctor will play at left guard during his rookie season. The Dolphins can then determine if they want to change his position after getting a full season of film on him.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler was quite surprised that Proctor will play at guard. He argued that some of Proctor’s draft stock was built around his experience at left tackle.

“This is interesting. Part of what helped Proctor’s draft stock is he’s got LT experience and has the feet for the position,” Fowler wrote. “But the Dolphins have emerging talent Patrick Paul at left tackle, and Proctor has the ability to move inside.”

Proctor needs to make some adjustments before he’ll be a plus player in the NFL, regardless of position. Fortunately, he’ll get plenty of opportunities to prove himself on a rebuilding Dolphins squad.
