NORFOLK, Va. — Nearly one year removed from the only loss of his professional career, Kelvin Davis is stepping back into the spotlight with something to prove.
The 29-year-old contender will return to his hometown on Saturday, May 16, facing veteran Peter Dobson in a 10-round welterweight showdown at Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia—part of a stacked fight night headlined by a high-stakes rematch.
Kelvin Davis Eyes Redemption in Welterweight Debut
Davis (15-1, 8 KOs), the older brother of rising star Keyshawn Davis, is looking to bounce back after a hard-fought majority decision loss to Nahir Albright last June.
That fight, a back-and-forth battle, saw Davis rally late and even earn a draw on one judge’s scorecard. Now, he moves up to welterweight, aiming to reestablish himself in a new division.
Standing in his way is Peter Dobson (17-3, 10 KOs), a seasoned 35-year-old from the Bronx who has tested himself against top competition, including bouts with Conor Benn and once-unbeaten Jakil Hacket.
Yan Santana Looks to Stay Perfect in Featherweight Clash
Also featured on the card, unbeaten Dominican puncher Yan Santana (16-0, 13 KOs) continues his push toward a world title opportunity.
Santana faces experienced contender Cristian Cruz Chacon (24-7-2, 12 KOs) in a 10-round featherweight bout, with the rising prospect aiming to become the first fighter to stop Cruz.
Santana enters the fight with strong momentum, going 3-0 in 2025, including a fifth-round stoppage victory in his last outing.
Meanwhile, Cruz has quietly rebuilt form, going 2-0-1 in his last three fights, including a win over Jeremy Hill and a competitive draw with Muhammad Yaquobov.
Stacked Card Headlined by Keyshawn Davis vs. Nahir Albright II
The Norfolk event is anchored by a compelling 12-round super lightweight rematch between Keyshawn Davis and Nahir Albright, a bout fueled by their closely contested first meeting.
Also featured, Brian Norman Jr., a former world champion, returns in a 10-round welterweight co-feature against Canada’s Josh Wagner.

Why This Fight Matters
For Kelvin Davis, this isn’t just another fight—it’s a career reset moment.
A win over a battle-tested opponent like Dobson in front of a hometown crowd could launch him back into contention, while a loss would raise serious questions about his ceiling at welterweight.
At the same time, Yan Santana’s rise adds intrigue to the card, as the unbeaten contender inches closer to a potential title shot in a loaded featherweight division.
