Kendal Grey reacted to Dave Meltzer’s praise by saying she doesn’t let outside opinions dictate her mindset. “It didn’t really scare me,” Grey said, explaining that she tries “not to read too much into online and what people are saying” because “no matter what I do, people are going to say negative things, positive things.” Instead, she focuses on “being authentic to myself” and doesn’t want to “get in my head about stuff.”
Despite brushing off the comparisons, Grey admitted her long-term goal is to reach the top. “At the end of the day, I do want to be the best,” she said. “That’s what I train for. I come in here every single day, get better every single day, take all the information I can and grow my mind about this business.”
Grey added that she hopes any future success comes naturally rather than from expectations. “Ultimately, if that happens, hopefully it happens down the road authentically,” she said. “I try not to read too much into it, do what I can, work hard, and if it happens, it happens.”
