Kevin Nash has set the record straight on his rumored involvement in WWE‘s alleged attempt to reboot the legendary nWo faction.
Former WWE writer Chris Dunn recently claimed that WWE had plans to revive the iconic nWo group during the Thunderdome era in 2020. The reported lineup included Sheamus, Claudio Castagnoli (then known as Cesaro), Shinsuke Nakamura, and Lars Sullivan.
Dunn also revealed that a member of the original nWo was reportedly scheduled to appear in Orlando to introduce the new faction but failed a COVID-19 test before the angle could move forward.
“It was really close to happening. I forgot which legendary nWo member was supposed to fly to Orlando to introduce this new nWo. No, it wasn’t X-Pac. They essentially landed, and they didn’t pass the COVID test,” he said.
Fans have since speculated about the mystery figure who was allegedly set to introduce the revamped version of the nWo. The rumors eventually reached Kevin Nash, who took to social media to deny having any involvement in the reported plans.
“Never heard anything about it. Scott and @TheRealXPac and myself were out almost every weekend together. So it definitely wasn’t one of us,” Nash wrote on X.
Lars Sullivan wrestled his final match for WWE in October 2020. The company released him in January 2021 after he reportedly requested his release due to anxiety-related issues. Meanwhile, Claudio Castagnoli quietly departed WWE in February 2022 before later signing with All Elite Wrestling that same year.
