IPL 2021: KKR vs CSK match preview and predicted playing XI

If you’re getting bored sitting at home, here’s a double header for you. Wednesday will witness second double header of IPL 2021. Confident Chennai Super Kings will go against Morgan’s Kolkata Knight Riders.

KKR on their way to face third loss in a row ?

The scenario hasn’t been great for KKR in their last 2 games. When they won their first match comprehensively, KKR was expected to be a strong contender. But, the things have been completely different. KKR’s middle order has laid them down. The small cameos of Gill aren’t enough for them to make a platform for others coming next. Eoin Morgan hasn’t been able to make a mark, so far. His contributions in the middle order are very important. He tends to give his wicket under pressure. Shakib-al-Hasan hasn’t been able to change the gear in the middle overs.

Dinesh Kartick has struggled against the spin and hence there’s too much to do for Andre Russell in the end. They’ll be playing their maiden game in Mumbai, hence there is a need to rejig the team combinations. Lockie Ferguson or Sunil Narine might replace Shakib-al-Hasan.

Confident CSK on their way for a hat-trick of victories

The first game was a reminder for CSK to rethink on their plans. Since then, it seems they’ve got the formula to win. Deepak Chahar produced a remarkable performance the other day. Moeen Ali has been the X-factor for the team. Batting at no.3 and providing breakthroughs with the ball in hand, CSK can’t look beyond him. It was Ravindra Jadeja’s night the day before. The only though is Ruturaj Gaikwad’s form at the top and hence CSK might consider roping in Robin Uthappa to replace Ruturaj. He was disappointing in all the three matches, so far. MS Dhoni’s form is also a big question mark but as they bat pretty deep, it’s under the radar.

Pitch Report

Wankhade hasn’t produced a belter, but still there are a lot of runs being scored at the venue. Chasing has been relatively easy. Hence, the team winning the toss should consider bowling first with dew being a factor as well.
