Kyle Fletcher is not backing away from what he did to Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Double or Nothing, and his latest message made that very clear.
After Double or Nothing, AEW took to Twitter and noted that Takeshita walked out with the AEW International Championship again, but lost a best friend in the process.
“Konosuke Takeshita has the AEW International Championship once again … but he’s lost a best friend.”
Kyle Fletcher then responded with a short but really cold message of his own, making it clear that his attack on Konosuke Takeshita was not just about ending a friendship: “he lost a lot more than that.”
The message came after Takeshita defeated Kazuchika Okada to win the AEW International Championship in a hard-fought match between two members of The Don Callis Family. Don Callis joined Takeshita in the ring afterwards, and the group gathered to celebrate the title change.
That celebration didn’t last long. Kyle Fletcher made his return and initially hugged Takeshita, teasing that everything might be fine. Moments later, Fletcher laid him out with a clothesline before attacking him again as Okada watched on.
Fletcher and Okada then had a tense staredown over the AEW International Championship before Takeshita was held in place and hit with the title. That left Takeshita’s reign starting with betrayal instead of celebration. Now, Fletcher’s response makes it clear this was not just a heat-of-the-moment attack. So, the Protostar is ready to make Takeshita pay even more as the Don Callis Family continues to fall apart.
