Lackluster CM Punk-Roman Reigns Segment Ends RAW

Lackluster CM Punk-Roman Reigns Segment Ends RAW

Roman Reigns and CM Punk are set to collide in Las Vegas this Sunday night.

With just six days remaining until their match at WrestleMania 42, the two WWE Superstars came face-to-face to close out the go-home episode of WWE RAW. Reigns made his entrance first. Punk quickly interrupted after a commercial break. Once in the ring, Punk didn’t hold back, stating that his dislike for Reigns stems from envy — specifically Reigns’ dominance with championships and numerous WrestleMania main events.

Punk then offered an apology for previously referencing Sika Anoa’i, Roman’s father. He acknowledged his own envy of Reigns’ deep-rooted wrestling legacy, but contrasted it by taking pride in building his own “family” through years on the independent circuit.

Punk admitted one final frustration — having to share his first singles WrestleMania main event with Roman Reigns.

Reigns responded by revealing that the envy isn’t one-sided. He admitted that he hopes fans will still be chanting Punk’s name a decade from now, but made it clear that admiration won’t stop him from ending what he called Punk’s “nostalgia act experiment” when they meet at WrestleMania 42. The crowd didn’t seem interested in this, especially with the two destroying each other in recent weeks.

Monday’s episode of WWE RAW went off the air with Michael Cole plugging that tickets for WWE SmackDown, WrestleMania 42, and RAW are still available.

What were your thoughts on this week’s “go-home” episode of WWE RAW? We’d love to hear from you and I will edit this post with some of your comments as they come in!
