Lee has not appeared on WWE programming since losing the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship to Lynch on Night One of WrestleMania 42. The loss ended her short title reign and led to questions about when she would return.
AJ Lee not expected to return to WWE anytime soon
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, AJ Lee is not expected to return to WWE TV anytime soon. No specific timeline was given, but the report stated that there are currently no immediate plans for her return. As a result, her comeback date remains unknown.
The update is not entirely surprising, as Lee was not working a full-time WWE schedule since returning. After competing in the women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series, she took some time away before returning earlier this year. That comeback eventually led to a feud with Becky Lynch, which saw Lee win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber.
Lee had wrestled only five matches after her return. Although her title reign lasted briefly, it added another achievement to her WWE career and gave fans a chance to see her compete again after many years away from wrestling.
However, even with her current absence, Lee had hinted earlier that WrestleMania 42 was not the end of her WWE journey.
Speaking during the WrestleMania 42 post-show, Lee reflected on the experience and shared how meaningful the event was for her. She never suggested that she was retiring or saying goodbye. Instead, she left the door open for another return whenever the time feels right.
