Bradyn Lange and Sofia Gomez Villafane take the wins
The Sea Otter Classic opened today, and the Life Time Sea Otter Classic Gravel Race kicked off the racing action for this year’s event.
Mountain bike racers on gravel bikes reigned supreme in the gravel race, winning both the Elite Men’s and Elite Women’s race categories.
Bradyn Lange narrowly beat Keegan Swenson, with both riders finishing the 88.8 mile course on the same second, with a total time of 4 hours, 15 minutes and 3 seconds to complete the race. There were 137 men who started in the event, and 119 men finished.
In the Elite Women’s contest, Sofia Gomez Villafane scored the win by a margin of two seconds over Lauren Stephens.
Sofia’s winning time was 5 hours, 10 minutes and 39 seconds.
Seventy Elite Women started in the race, and 54 finished it.
