From Headingley, where it’s a glorious start to the day. The sun’s shining, and we’re all set for an 11am start.
After a week off, the White Rose are back in action for game number three of the summer.
We are facing a Sussex side who have won two from two to start the campaign; against Leicestershire away and Warwickshire at home. Yorkshire, meanwhile, have drawn away at Glamorgan and lost at home to Hampshire.
Both sides come into this fixture, one of six in the opening block of Championship matches before the start of the Vitality Blast next month, on the back of a rest week.
There’s mixed availability news for Yorkshire, who welcome Joe Root into the team for the first time this season, alongside seam duo Jhye Richardson and Jack White, who both had to drop out of the Hampshire game midway through because of illness.
Unfortunately, though, their fellow seamer Ben Coad is out through injury. He has suffered an issue in training in the build-up to the game.
You can read our match preview, with Anthony McGrath, via the link below, while there’s a Bygones piece for this fixture with Kevin Sharp, who takes a look back at a one-wicket win over Sussex at Headingley in 1986.
