Just days after their final match of the Premier League season, it has emerged that Liverpool will part ways with manager Arne Slot.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Dutchman will leave the Reds with immediate effect, despite it previously looking like the former Feyenoord boss would stay put on Merseyside.
Slot joined Liverpool from Dutch giants Feyenoord in the summer of 2024 and guided the Reds to the Premier League title during his debut season in England.
Last term was a different story, though, with Liverpool struggling domestically despite spending unprecedented amounts during last summer’s transfer window.
The likes of Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz were among those to arrive at Anfield, but the Reds struggled and failed miserably in their attempts to retain the top flight crown.

Instead, Slot’s side ultimately finished fifth in the Premier League table, benefitting from England’s extra qualifying spot to book their place in next term’s Champions League.
Slot’s future had been the subject of intense speculation in recent months, but it had appeared that those in charge of the club were set to stick with the 47-year-old.
Romano claims that Slot will leave the club immediately, with Andoni Iraola the early favourite to succeed the Dutchman.
Iraola guided Bournemouth to the Europa League this season, but departed the south coast side following their final match of the campaign.
He has since been linked with several clubs including AC Milan, Crystal Palace, and Bayer Leverkusen.
According to Romano, though, he is the most likely contender to be appointed as Slot’s successor.
In total, Slot won 66 of his 113 matches in charge of Liverpool, losing 29 times.
