Now, Logan Paul is looking at 6-9 months out due to a triceps tear. Due to Logan Paul’s injury, The Maverick will be unable to defend the WWE Tag Team Championships. Logan Paul Gets Injured at Saturday Night’s Main Event
This past weekend was a big one for The Street Profits. WWE Supertars came out to celebrate Montez Ford and Bianca Belair’s baby shower. However, King Tez and Angelo Dawkins pulled double-duty, as they also headlined Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The Street Profits challenged Logan Paul and Austin Theory for the Tag Titles in the Main Event. While Dawkins and Ford brought the smoke, they came up short against the reigning Champs.
Although The Vision left Fort Wayne, Indiana, with their Titles held high, Logan Paul didn’t walk away unscathed. In the closing moments of the match, Logan Paul endured a torn tricep.
How Did Logan Paul’s Injury Occur?
Logan Paul almost left the match without any battle wounds. Unfortunately for the Prime Co-Owner, the final spot left him with a debilitating injury.
Things picked up in the match as Montez Ford hit a breathtaking Frog Splash on Austin Theory. It seemed like Bianca Belair’s husband was going to bring the gold home to mama. However, The Oracle grabbed Austin Theory’s foot and placed it on the bottom rope to break up the count.
In the meantime, Logan Paul procured his trademark brass knuckles. The Tag Champ clocked Montez Ford with a knockout blow from the outside. Looking for revenge, Angelo Dawkins flipped over the top rope to Somersault Logan Paul.
As Angelo Dawkins’ legs landed on the back of Logan Paul’s head, the Impaulsive host tried to brace for impact by putting his forearms out. Unfortunately, that caused Paul to land far past his left arm, tearing his tricep in the process.
Cameras caught Logan Paul favoring his left arm. The Maverick would lie prone on the floor as Austin Theory pinned the unconscious Montez Ford. Sensing something was amiss, Paul Heyman extended his hand to the wounded Logan Paull, helping the YouTuber back to his feet.
How Long Will Logan Paul Be Out of Action?
A torn tricep is a serious injury, and healing depends on its severity. Complete tears require surgery and can result in 6-12 months on the shelf.
Comparatively, CM Punk tore his right tricep at the 2024 Royal Rumble. It took CM Punk about six months to return at SummerSlam that year.
With Logan Paul looking at a minimum of six months on the sidelines, WWE needed to make a decision about the Tag Team Titles. On Raw from Columbus, Ohio, Paul Heyman shared the fate of the Championships with Austin Theory.
The Vision Receive Freebird Rule for Tag Team Titles
After WWE commentators confirmed Logan Paul’s injury, his Tag Team partner went up to The Oracle backstage. Austin Theory attempted to relinquish the gold to Paul Heyman, who told his protege to hold onto the gold.
Ever the contractual expert, Paul Heyman explained that all contracts state that The Vision are the defending Champions. Therefore, any incarnation of the stable can defend the Titles.
This clause means that Bron Breakker is currently a Tag Team Champion with Austin Theory. That said, if The Vision still holds the gold when Bronson Reed returns, then The Tribal Thief will also be qualified to defend the Titles.
What Is The Freebird Rule?
To long-time wrestling fans, The Vision’s unique contract loophole is known as “The Freebird Rule.” It was made famous when, in the NWA, The Fabulous Freebirds held the National Tag Team Titles. Under this contractual provision, Michael P.S. Hayes, Buddy Roberts, and Terry Bam Bam Gordy were able to defend the Titles as a two-person team on any given night.
