The May 26 episode of NXT brought the usual action from WWE’s developmental brand. This also included a battle for the brand’s top prize for the women.
Lola Vice has worn a target on her back since winning the NXT Women’s Title. This week on WWE’s Tuesday night show, she put that championship on the line against Izzi Dame.
This match was the main event of the show. Everything was built toward that title match, and fans were ready to see if it was Izzi Dame’s night.
Izzi Dame wanted the spotlight all to herself as The Cullings’ primary objective tonight. That being said, Lola Vice had no intention of giving her opponent an easy night on the job. This match went down to the wire, with Izzi Dame showing off in a big way, but then the referee took a bump thanks to a stray kick from the Culling member.
Lola Vice started to rally on Izzi Dame, but the referee was out and couldn’t get the pinfall counted in time. Izzi Dame got the title, and she used it to cause a distraction before a big boot for another near fall. In the end, Lola Vice got the clean win, but it was not an easy victory at all.
