Punjab Kings (PBKS) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal delivered a top spell to restrict Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to 196/6 in a must-win IPL clash in Lucknow on Saturday.
Chahal first struck in the seventh over to dismiss in-form Ayush Badoni (43) with the help of a brilliant stumping by Prabhsimran Singh. He returned in the 14th over and removed LSG captain Rishabh Pant (26) with a googly. The 35-year-old conceded just 25 runs in his four overs at an economy rate of 6.25.
The experienced spinner has now taken 12 wickets from 12 innings this season while maintaining an economy rate of 9.39. In a must-win clash, again Chahal stepped up and delivered when it mattered.
Apart from Chahal, Marco Jansen chipped in with two crucial wickets. He conceded 33 runs in his four overs at an economy rate of 8.25. Azmatullah Omarzai and Shashank Singh also picked up one wicket each to prevent LSG from crossing the 200-run mark.
