Ludwig Kaiser’s Florida battery case may now be colliding with his WWE schedule, because Ringside News has obtained a new court filing showing the WWE star is seeking permission for out-of-state and international travel while the case remains active.
Fresh Orange County court records reveal Kaiser — whose real name is Marcel Barthel — recently filed a motion connected to travel restrictions as his misdemeanor battery case continues through the legal system. The filing states:
“TO ALLOW OUT OF STATE AND INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL”
The request immediately raises questions about how the ongoing case could impact Kaiser’s WWE responsibilities, especially with the company’s constant travel schedule and overseas appearances.
Kaiser has remained active on WWE television in recent weeks under the masked El Grande Americano character while the legal situation continues unfolding behind the scenes.
The travel filing comes shortly after Ringside News obtained court records showing Barthel entered a written plea of not guilty and waived arraignment in the battery case. His attorney also filed a Notice of Intent to Participate in Discovery, signaling the defense is now seeking access to evidence connected to the investigation.
Ringside News previously obtained documents revealing Barthel turned himself in on May 20 after an active arrest warrant had been issued in Orange County, Florida. He was booked on a misdemeanor battery charge before later posting $1,000 bond.
The case stems from an alleged incident police say took place on April 23 at the Paramount on Lake Eola Apartments in Orlando. Investigators previously stated probable cause was established after reviewing surveillance footage, documenting injuries, interviewing witnesses, and conducting a photo lineup identification.
The newly obtained travel motion suggests Kaiser’s legal team is already trying to make sure the case does not interfere with his ability to leave Florida or travel internationally, something that is often essential for WWE performers due to live events, media appearances, premium live events, and overseas tours.
As of this writing, WWE has not publicly commented on Kaiser’s arrest, the ongoing legal case, or the newly filed travel request.
With the case still active and more court proceedings expected, attention will now shift toward whether the court grants the request and whether the legal matter begins affecting WWE scheduling moving forward.
Do you think WWE should continue using Ludwig Kaiser normally while the case moves forward, or should the company take a different approach until the legal situation is resolved? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback in the comments.
