Manchester United secured qualification for next season’s Champions League courtesy of a 3-2 win over Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Red Devils took an early lead through Matheus Cunha, before Benjamin Sesko bundled in a second inside the first 15 minutes.
Liverpool were frustrated that Sesko’s goal was allowed to stand, as replays appeared to show the ball struck the striker’s hand before going over the line.
The reigning Premier League champions responded well after the break, with Dominik Szoboszlai pulling one back and then providing an assist for Cody Gakpo to draw the visitors level.
The match looked to be heading for a draw until midfielder Kobbie Mainoo’s superb low strike beat Freddie Woodman to restore United’s lead.
The result leaves United third in the top flight table, and the Red Devils are now guaranteed a place in next season’s Champions League.
In the wake of the game, though, it has emerged that one of United’s most experienced players could be set for a surprise move to the United States.
According to TalkSPORT, MLS sides Inter Miami and LA Galaxy are currently leading the race to sign midfielder Casemiro this summer.

It was announced earlier this year that the Brazilian would depart Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign, but his next club has not yet been confirmed.
The report suggests that the 34-year-old is a target for clubs in the Saudi Pro League and the Turkish Super Lig, however his preference at present would be to join the MLS.
Casemiro joined Man United from Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2022, and surpassed 150 appearances for the club in February.
The Brazil international has been particularly impressive of late, scoring four goals in his last seven games for Michael Carrick’s side.
