Maria Kanellis-Bennett Gives Update After ‘One In A Million’ Tumor

WWE/AEW alum Maria Kanellis-Bennett has provided a health update after battling a rare kind of tumor and overcoming the medical setback.

Two years ago, Maria shared that a tumor had been found on her adrenal gland, and later on, an operation left the wrestler completely cancer-free.

On a recent edition of the “Wrestling Life Online” podcast, Maria spoke about the tumor that nearly derailed her life. She said,

“It’s great, a One in a million tumor…I had so many doctors that are like, ‘You just never see these.’ And it was a tumor that literally engulfed my adrenal gland.”

For Maria, finding the source of the issue proved difficult for medical staff at work, as it is so rare that it was not expected to look for it. She said,

“And a lot of times they don’t find them, ’cause why would you? Why would you scan your adrenal gland?… But thank God for my doctor. I’m an incredibly blessed woman.”

Maria joined the wrestling world in the early 2000s as part of the WWE Diva Search. Though she didn’t win, she was signed by the promotion.

She has appeared for WWE, TNA Wrestling, AEW, and Ring of Honor, among other promotions. She is a former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion.
