Matt Hardy Says Tommy Dreamer Leaving TNA Makes Things “Very Interesting”

Matt Hardy is now weighing in on Tommy Dreamer being gone from TNA, and he is watching closely to see what happens next.

Dreamer revealed this week on Busted Open Radio that he and TNA mutually agreed to part ways, ending his run as the company’s head of creative. That is a major backstage change for TNA, especially with Slammiversary coming up and creative responsibilities already shifting.

Hardy reacted on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, and he made it clear he enjoyed working with Dreamer over the years. Their history goes back beyond TNA too, including Dreamer’s House of Hardcore days. Hardy also gave Dreamer credit for staying plugged into the wrestling business and understanding where things were headed.

“It’s interesting, it’s intriguing. I certainly enjoyed working with Tommy.”

“I always thought he had a good pulse on kind of where pro wrestling is and where it’s going, and he stayed pretty current with things, but you know, things change.”

That last part is the line that stands out. Things change, and TNA just changed in a big way. Hardy was not taking shots at Dreamer. He said there are no hard feelings and made it clear he still has plenty of respect for him.

“I got lots of love for Tommy, no doubt about it. I loved working with Tommy, really enjoyable working with Tommy.”

Now the question is what TNA looks like without Dreamer helping steer the ship. Delirious is believed to be the point person for creative moving forward, and Road Dogg’s name has also been discussed in some circles after his WWE departure earlier this year. Hardy closed by saying he is curious to see where things go from here.

“Very interesting to see what happens next now in TNA.”

That pretty much sums it up. Dreamer is gone, TNA is moving forward, and even people inside the company are waiting to see what the next version of the product looks like.
