Ed Dong brings energy, dedication, and a love for golf (and Loudmouth shorts!) to Haggin Oaks, playing over 200 rounds a year and sharing his passion with everyone he meets.
Ed Dong has been the Demo Club Check-Out staff member for the past nine years. Before coming to the Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop, he was a Special Agent, Office of Internal Affairs, CA State Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation for 16 years.
Ed plays golf 3 – 4 days a week at Haggin Oaks and has averaged playing over two hundred rounds per year. He is always the first golfer off in the morning and at times must wait for the sun to come up before he can hit his first golf ball of the day. His dog, Kalea is his golf partner who gets to ride along on the cart and enjoy the round as much as Ed does.
What makes Ed unique is his love for Loudmouth shorts. He has 180 pairs of Loudmouth golf shorts and over 400 golf shirts to match. The picture of his closet attached tells the story. Ed told us that he does not repeat wearing the same pair of Loudmouth golf shorts in the same year.
When Ed is not playing golf or working at Haggin Oaks he loves to travel. He invites his three daughters to join him for an annual vacation to Hawaii each summer. Ed gets the award of “Dad of the Year” for that offer!
Look for Ed in the early mornings, on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday on the course.
It is always a pleasure to see his dog, Kalea, spending time with him. Every once in a while, Kalea must stay home because Ed has invited a friend to join him for the round. Kalea does not mind this every once in a while, because he knows when Ed plays his next round she will be back in the cart.
Thanks Ed, for the smiles and jovial personality you bring to the Haggin Oaks Golf Super Store every Tuesday. Stop by and say HI to Ed and let him know how many rounds you played this year. I do not think any of us can beat Ed’s average of two hundred rounds per year.
