Mercedes Moné was not about to let Hazuki’s big win close AEW Collision quietly.

The June 6 episode of AEW Collision ended with Hazuki defeating Persephone in an Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament quarterfinal match. Hazuki scored the win with a Magistral Cradle, advancing in the tournament after a hard-fought main event. That should have been the story, but Mercedes Moné made sure the spotlight shifted fast.

As Hazuki was making her way to the back, Mercedes came from behind and attacked Persephone. Moné took her down and locked in the Bank Statement, sending a clear message after the tournament match. Hazuki then came back into the ring, but Mercedes turned her attention to her next. Moné laid Hazuki out with punches before leaving the ring.

That still wasn’t the end of it. Hazuki recovered and dove to the outside after Mercedes as officials and staff rushed in to break things up. The show went off the air with the two being separated.

Mercedes had already made her presence felt earlier in the week after returning on Dynamite and taking the Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament belt. Now she has inserted herself directly into the tournament picture again by attacking Persephone and getting into it with Hazuki after the match.

Hazuki advanced, but Mercedes Moné made sure nobody forgot who is watching the Owen Hart tournament closely. With Hazuki moving forward and Moné clearly looking for a fight, this post-match attack could set the tone for what comes next.
