Launched in 2025, the Mexico Riviera Maya Open is played at El Camaleón Golf Course at Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is LPGA’s only event in Latin America.

The inaugural 2025 edition was a 144-player, 72-hole stroke-play event with a $2.5 million purse, signaling that the tournament was designed as a major international showcase rather than a small regional stop.

The course at Mayakoba has staged top-tier professional events before, including PGA Tour competition, and its mix of mangroves, lagoons, jungle, and Caribbean coastline gives the tournament a distinct identity.
