The Packers are going to be leaning on Lukas Van Ness pretty significantly at the start of the season, and Micah Parsons believes the former first-round pick is up to task.
While Van Ness has struggled to put it all together, to date, during his career, he’ll likely open the season as the Packers’ top pass rusher as the All-Pro, Parsons, works his way back from a torn ACL.
Micah Parsons confident in Packers’ Lukas Van Ness
After what Parsons has seen through this spring’s OTA and minicamp practices, he believes Van Ness is about to surprise.
“I think Luke is someone that people sleep on the most, and I don’t know why. I think by the end of this season, if Luke stays healthy, I think he’ll probably be the favorite. That’s how much confidence I have in him,” Parsons said, via WISCTV News 3 Now.
Van Ness enters this season 8.5 career sacks, and at least in Parsons’ absence, will be asked to take on a far more significant role in the defense than he’s occupied to this point in his career, and ideally blast through his previous career high of just four sacks, set as a rookie back in 2023.
