Leafs lineup news: Michael Pezzetta re-joins 4th line with Jacob Quillan, Calle Jarnkrok
Ahead of Saturday’s game against the St. Louis Blues, there are few proposed lineup changes for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Michael Pezzetta re-joined the fourth line, alongside Jacob Quillan and Calle Jarnkrok at Friday’s practice, via line rushes posted by
Nick Barden of The Hockey News. Pezzetta has not recorded a point in three games with the Maple Leafs this season.
Bo Groulx was sent down to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies on Friday. As a result, Groulx won’t have to clear waivers to join the Marlies for their playoff run. He can be recalled by the Maple Leafs on an emergency basis. Groulx recorded three goals and five points in his nine games for the Maple Leafs, potentially carving out a more permanent role for the 2026-27 campaign. The 26-year-old leads the Marlies in scoring with 27 goals and 50 points in 54 games.
Aside from Pezzetta from re-entering the lineup, it looks like Craig Berube will run back the same lineup from Wednesday’s win over the New York Rangers. John Tavares will centre the first line with Easton Cowan and William Nylander on his wings. Cowan drew universal praise from his coaches and teammates after taking on Boston Bruins defenceman Nikita Zadorov during Tuesday’s game, following a questionable hit on Tavares.
Max Domi will centre the second line with Matthew Knies and Nick Robertson. Steven Lorentz is playing through the middle with Dakota Joshua and Matias Maccelli on his wings to form the third line.
Although no starting goaltender has been confirmed at the time of this filing, Anthony Stolarz appears to be the projected starter. Philippe Myers is expected to be among the healthy scratches.
