Nothing has been announced yet, but word on the street is that the superb Kingsley Club in northern Michigan is adding a second course — designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw.
Coore and Crenshaw course designs are highly regarded. Sand Hills might be considered the team’s masterpiece, but Bandon Trails , Friars Head, Streamsong Red, Cabot Cliffs and Barnbougle Dunes all getting strong consideration.
Kingsley’s current course is a Mike DeVries design acclaimed for its untamed, natural flow. I had the good fortune to play it once and would go back again in a heartbeat.
With their emphasis on making a course feel simultaneously very strategic and natural, a new design Coore and Crenshaw design should be a great complement to the existing DeVries course.
