Mike Santana Addresses TNA Future Amid WWE Interest

Mike Santana knows all the talk about his future is out there, and he is not exactly shutting the door on anything.

While speaking to Celebrate Wrestling’s Mike McGuire, Santana addressed what could be next for him as his TNA deal runs through sometime in July. WWE has already been linked to interest in him, but Santana made it clear he is grateful for what TNA has given him over the past two years.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity that TNA gave me over the last two years as far as being able to reinvent myself and rebuild myself.”

Santana said his current run helped him accomplish a lot, and he takes pride in being part of TNA’s recent growth, including the company’s new TV deal.

“Just looking back on these last two years, I’ve been able to accomplish a lot of things and do a lot of great things. I don’t take it for granted. Being a part of why the company is where we’re at today, and having this new TV deal and all this stuff, and just being on the forefront of that, feels great.”

Still, when it comes to the future, Santana made it clear that growth is the priority. Whether that happens in TNA or somewhere else, he said he has to keep moving forward.

“As far as the future goes, man, I’m the type of person who believes that growth is part of my life. I feel like if there’s an opportunity for me to grow, then that’s what I’m going to do, whether it’s at TNA or anywhere.”

Santana said staying still is not an option, especially because he wants to show his daughter that there are always higher levels to chase. He also quoted his father’s advice, saying every peak only leads to another climb

“For me, if you’re not growing in this business, then what are you doing? If you’re not trying to progress in this business, then what are we doing? At the end of the day, I need to show my daughter that there are levels. There are levels to this. Also, my dad used to always say, the top of one mountain is the bottom of another, right? So keep climbing. Keep climbing.”

That’s a pretty interesting answer, with his contract situation getting attention. We had reported that Santana’s TNA deal runs through sometime in July, and WWE sources believe he could leave TNA and sign with WWE once the deal expires. Bottom line, Santana is thankful for TNA, but he is also making it clear that he is chasing growth. If WWE gives him a bigger mountain to climb, this situation could get very real, very fast.
