Cincinnati’s struggles against the National League Central have continued this series. The Milwaukee Brewers have won the first two games this week. Tonight the Reds will try to avoid being swept and pick up just their third win against a divisional opponent on the season. First pitch this evening is scheduled for 7:10pm ET.

Starting Pitchers
Rhett Lowder
The season has been inconsistent at best for Lowder. He walked 10 batters in his first six starts, covering 34.0 innings. Over the five starts since then he’s walked 18 batters with just 17 strikeouts in 18.1 innings pitched and has given up 16 earned runs. His last time out he gave up four earned runs in 5.1 innings to the Yankees.
The splits are pretty big for Lowder. He’s been very good against right-handed hitters, holding them to a low average, few walks, and no power at all. Left-handed hitters are also not hitting for much average, but they are walking a bunch, making a lot of contact, and when they do get hits are showing good power. Not shown below are his home and road splits. In his four home starts his ERA is 3.22 and hitters have six walks with 22 strikeouts and a .612 OPS.

Shane Drohan
Most of the 2026 season has seen Drohan pitch in relief, with many of those outings being multi-inning outings. His last four games – all in June – have been starts. During that stretch he’s thrown 20.1 innings with a 4.43 ERA. His last outing saw him allow a run to Cleveland while walking and striking out three batters in 5.0 innings.
The splits aren’t huge against Drohan this season, but they are there. Righties aren’t hitting for much average, but they have a solid-ish walk rate and have shown mediocre power when they did find hits against him. Left-handed hitters are hitting for a high average in today’s game, but they are not walking much and when they do get hits the are showing very little power.
