Moose made his return to TNA on the June 11 episode of TNA iMPACT!, and he wasted no time in confronting his old faction member for Slammiversary.
The former TNA World Champion interrupted a post-match attack by The System and immediately went after his former allies. By the end of the night, TNA officially announced that Moose will face Eddie Edwards at Slammiversary on June 28 in Boston.
Moose returns to even the score with The System
The night’s tag team match featured Cedric Alexander and Eddie Edwards taking on Fabian Aichner and Leon Slater. Aichner started strong and controlled the action early, but soon after Edwards and Alexander slowed things down and took over.
Leon Slater eventually got the hot tag and fired up the crowd with his fast-paced offense. However, the match turned chaotic when members of The System tried to get involved. Although Aichner and Slater briefly fought them off, the distraction proved costly. Alexander took advantage of the opening and hit Slater with the Lumbar Check to pick up the win for his team.
After the match, Alexander, Edwards, Brian Myers, Bear Bronson, and Alisha Edwards continued attacking Aichner and Slater. With the numbers game becoming too much to overcome, Moose’s music hit, and the former champion rushed to the ring.
Moose went straight after The System. The former stablemates ran off, and he stood tall in the ring. He then grabbed a microphone and revealed that TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella had officially signed a match between him and Eddie Edwards for Slammiversary.
Moose’s return carried even more weight because of how he had been written off television.
Earlier this year, Moose was kicked out of The System. Things became even messier when Alisha Edwards appeared to support Moose after criticizing The System’s actions. But it eventually turned out to be a setup.
At Rebellion 2026, Alisha faked an injury to distract Moose during an important match involving the group’s Special Agent 0. The distraction cost Moose the match.
Soon after, The System’s numbers advantage caught up with him. The group launched a brutal attack that injured Moose in storyline and kept him off TNA television for several weeks.
