Throwback Thursday: The Kestrel Nitro full-suspension bike was a prototype that graced the cover of our May 1988 issue of Mountain Bike Action. At that time, almost everybody in the sport was riding fully rigid mountain bikes, so this Kestrel Nitro was completely different than what the mountain bike world was used to seeing. It would take years before bikes that looked anything like this one came to be recognized as fairly common.
