Mwamba RFC produced an attacking masterclass to secure a 41-26 victory over Catholic Monks Rugby earning promotion back to Kenya Cup after just after a season.
The win means Catholic Monks will be staying in the second tier for the second consecutive season having fallen short last season.
The visitors struck first with an early penalty to take a 3-0 lead, but Mwamba quickly responded through Eugene Ojiambo, who leveled matters with a well-taken kick.
Ojiambo then added another penalty to give the hosts a narrow 6-3 advantage before crossing over for a try, though the conversion drifted wide, extending the lead to 10-3.
Monks Rugby responded with a try of their own to close the gap to 10-8, but Ojiambo remained influential, adding another penalty to stretch Mwamba’s lead to 14-8. The visitors kept within touching distance with a penalty of their own, making it 14-11.
Charles Kuka then lit up the match with a brilliant try, pushing Mwamba further ahead at 21-11 heading into the break.
The second half started in explosive fashion, with Denis Ndayala crossing over almost immediately before grabbing a second try moments later to complete a quickfire brace, extending Mwamba’s lead to 31-11.

Monks Rugby refused to go away, pulling back a try and adding a penalty to reduce the deficit to 31-26 and momentarily threaten a comeback.
However, Kuka steadied Mwamba with a penalty before Brian Mutugi sealed the result with a superb try, with Kuka adding the extras to put the game beyond reach at 41-26.
The match also saw a moment of discipline concern for Mwamba, with George Omolla sent to the sin bin late in the game.
In the end, Mwamba’s attacking efficiency and ability to respond under pressure proved decisive in a thrilling contest.
