Naoya Inoue successfully defended his undisputed super bantamweight crown in Tokyo, Japan as he took on Junto Nakatani.
All three judges scored the contest to Inoue, with victory over Nakatani being up there with his best wins.
The undisputed champion walked out in front of 55,000 in what was a hair-raising moment. Backed by a violinist and rock music, ‘The Monster’ looked a man on a mission as he made his way to the ring.
In the first two rounds, both men were feeling each other out and the danger from the pair was there for all to see.
Both Inoue and ‘Big Bang’ missed big shots by a few centimetres.
‘The Monster’ had a good third round, showing some real precision in his shots.
In the 7th round, the tide started to turn after a good few rounds from Inoue, with the 28-year-old starting to really impress.

He was in complete control in the 10th round and was dominating ‘Big Bang’, something few, if anyone, has managed to do.
Nakatani suffered a nasty cut at the end of the round but, after the doctor had a quick look, he was allowed to continue.
That cut unfortunately looked to really hinder the 28-year-old as the champion turned the tide once again in the 11th and had his best round of the fight so far.
Momentum was back with Inoue, who started to find his flow in the championship rounds.

He had a convincing final round and it was the last two that likely did enough to help him retain his titles.
Yoshiki Takei vs Chris Medina
In the co-main event, Yoshiki Takei saw himself get back to winning ways after a loss to Chris Medina last time out.
Takei held the WBO bantamweight crown from 2024 when he dethroned Jason Moloney.
He scored an underwhelming points victory against DeKang Wang over eight rounds.
Takei started boxing on the back foot in the opening round, with Wang looking good from the off.

Round three was possibly the strongest of the fight for Wang, who turned the tide of the contest and landed a barrage of shots on Takei, who was pinned in the corner.
Takei was the slicker fighter throughout the contest and that precision started to pay in the closing stages. He looked close to stopping Wang at times, who did really well to survive to the final bell.
The three judges’ scorecards read 77-75, 78-74 & 76-76.
Remaining Undercard
Younger brother of Naoya, Takuma Inoue was back in action as he extended his win record to 22 in style.
