Nate Diaz will never return to UFC, predicts Brendan Schaub: “He looked so bad” against Mike Perry

If Brendan Schaub’s hunch is correct, then Nate Diaz will never have another UFC fight again.

Diaz had his first MMA bout since 2022 when he fought Mike Perry in the co-main event of Most Valuable Promotions’ Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano card. It was not a good night for Diaz, who was stopped by Perry via second-round TKO due to the corner stoppage. While Diaz appeared to be in high spirits after the fight, Schaub believes the bubble has finally burst on the fan favorite.

In a new video posted on his X page, Schaub expressed his doubt in ever seeing Diaz sign another UFC contract again after being bloodied and beaten by Perry (h/t MMAJunkie).

“The UFC is never paying for that again, not a chance,” Schaub said. “Not a chance. So you’re not going to get Conor-Diaz 3. That’s out the window now. That’s what was at stake for Nate that night. He looked so bad that the UFC is just not in that business anymore. They’re not in the Nate Diaz business anymore. He f*cked that up.”

Furthermore, Schaub believes that Diaz whiffed on the Conor McGregor sweepstakes after it was announced that the “Notorious” one will be returning at UFC 329 on July 11.

“There’s two big losers from the Conor-Max Holloway announcement,” Schaub said. “Nate Diaz is probably the biggest loser as far as losing the sweepstakes to fight Conor for the third time. His performance was such a shell of himself, the UFC’s never going to sign him again. This is a fact.”

Schaub went on to say that the other “loser” is Charles Oliveira for missing out on a lucrative payday with McGregor because of the way he fought Holloway in their BMF title fight back in March. While Diaz could’ve been a big option for Oliveira had the Stockton native beaten Perry, the idea of that matchup appears to be slipping away.
