The New York Giants are fearing that wide receiver Gunner Olszewski is out of the 2026 season after potentially tearing his Achilles in practice on Friday.
The 29-year-old went down with a non-contact injury during practice and needed to be carted off the field.
He will now undergo further examinations and testing but the early fears are that he has sustained an injury that will end his season before it had even started.
Olszewski would be the third Giants player to have torn his Achilles this offseason, an alarming trend for the team.
Olszewski has been with the Giants since 2023 and his injury is also a blow to new head coach John Harbaugh – the team already have enough worry in that position with Malik Nabers recovering from a torn ACL.
Nabers had to have a second procedure on his right knee to remove scar tissue that was causing stiffness.
The Giants are hopeful, rather than confident, that the impressive Nabers will be ready to play in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys.
