Newcastle United reject embarrassing second attempt by Tottenham to buy Sandro Tonali

Last week Tottenham made an attempt to try and sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United.

The North London club putting in a derisory £75m bid for the United midfielder.

This bid reported to have been dismissed out of hand by Newcastle United.

A new media ‘Exclusive’ on Thursday night has now detailed that a second official approach has been made by Tottenham to try and sign the Italy international.

The Mail say that their information is that in terms of extra cash with this second approach, Tottenham have offered exactly nothing extra.

The original £75m offer was embarrassing enough.

However, The Mail say that their sources have told them that Tottenham have now gone in again to officially ask Newcastle United to take that £75m lowball bid.

They add that Newcastle United are looking at more like £100m if anybody is to have any chance of signing Sandro Tonali and that so far no club, especially not Tottenham, have offered anything like a credible amount of money.

Sandro Tonali is tied to Newcastle United until 30 June 2030 and so there is zero contract pressure on NUFC to take the kind of lowball offer Tottenham have now offered twice.
