Green Bay Packers star Josh Jacobs has been released from jail following his arrest for domestic violence.
The running back, 28, was booked into Brown County Jail on Tuesday afternoon after turning himself in.
He was booked on a slew of domestic violence charges, including battery-domestic abuse, criminal damage to property-domestic abuse, disorderly conduct-domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.
However, less than 24 hours later Jacobs has been released with authorities saying they are ‘not prepared to make a formal charging decision’ based on current evidence.
The Brown County DA’s office said in a press release that there is a distinction between the evidence threshold for arrest and the evidence threshold for charging.
The threshold for arrest is ‘probable cause,’ while charges would require evidence of a crime ‘beyond a reasonable doubt.’

The office has called for further investigation with a final charging decision to be made at a further date.
It added that it has reason to believe that ‘additional evidence may exist that would impact whether criminal charges are appropriate, and what charges would be issued.’
In a statement provided to Daily Mail, Jacobs’ attorneys, David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Clarence Duchac, said: ‘We are extremely pleased that Josh has been released from custody and that no criminal charges have been filed against him.
‘As we previously stated, we encourage everyone to keep an open mind while the matter is fully reviewed.
‘We remain confident that, once all of the evidence is gathered and evaluated, it will confirm that no charges should be brought against Josh in the future.’
Back in February, the Packers star sparked dating rumors with influencer and OnlyFans model Ash Kash, after the pair were seen holding hands in a Snapchat post.
Neither Jacobs nor Kash ever commented on the rumors.

The Packers said in a statement on Tuesday that they were aware of the situation but refused further comment.
Head coach Matt LaFleur did, however, address Jacobs’ addressed during OTAs on Wednesday shortly before the player’s release.
LaFleur said the team is ‘going to let the process play out,’ before adding that he would not provide any further comment.
The Green Bay Packers reportedly cancelled a player media availability for Wednesday’s schedule with only LaFleur addressing reporters.
