NHL Rumors: Mavrik Bourque, Jason Robertson, Mason McTavish, and the Buffalo Sabres

Dallas Stars GM on Mavrik Bourque and Jason Robertson

Bruce LeVine: Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill said that they know several teams could take a run at RFA Mavrik Bourque with an offer sheet. It’s a priority for them to get Bourque signed, but they do have some contingency plans.

Michael Dixon: Stars GM Nill said that contract talks with Jason Robertson are going “very good,” and that it’s a priority for them to get him signed. There is no imminent deadline.

Teams that could be interested in Mason McTavish

Mike Gould of Daily Faceoff: The 23-year-old Mason McTavish carries a $7 million cap hit through 2031 and he’ll get trade interest from many teams. Five teams that could have meaningful interest in McTavish this offseason.

Brady Tkachuk Acquired by the Florida Panthers

Calgary Flames – Could give him an immediate top-six position and a good opportunity. Have the cap space and eight second-round picks over the next three drafts.

Detroit Red Wings – Need centers, especially if they trade Dylan Larkin. GM Steve Yzerman has a lot on his plate this offseason. Could offer something involving Nate Danielson or Marco Kasper.

Montreal Canadiens – The favorite to land McTavish. One the leagues best prospect pools and could offer up a couple of prospects.

Ottawa Senators – Are deep at center, but someone could shift to the wing, which McTavish did for part of last season. They’re looking for a young top-six forward.

St. Louis Blues – The Ducks could use a defenseman like Colton Parayko.

Winnipeg Jets – Could use a second-line center. Would the Jets consider trading Neal Pionk to make room for Elias Salomonsson. A controllable right-handed defenseman might interest the Ducks.

Potential free agents that the Buffalo Sabres might be interested in

Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic: The Buffalo Sabres don’t have a lot of cap space. They may not be big spenders in free agency, so trades may be the route to go. They may need to find some scoring to replace Alex Tuch if he leaves, and someone to replace Beck Malenstyn if he leaves.

NHL Rumors: Calgary Flames, John Carlson, and Bowen Byram
