After having an exciting tournament India Women and Bangladesh Women met in the first semifinal match. The Rangiri Stadium witnessed a thrilling match. After winning the toss, Bangladesh Women opted to bat first. Along with their batting department, the bowling department also collapsed. They lost their first three wickets within the powerplay. They ended their innings with only 80 runs. They struggled to face the Indian batters and faced a massive defeat.
While reflecting on their performance, Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana said, “We couldn’t get the ideal start what we wanted. Losing so many runs in the powerplay and not getting runs, it’s pretty difficult to move on. It’s a mental aspect. When they played against India, they played differently.”
On Their Batting Blow:
In the match, Bangladesh Women’s batting performance caught the attention. Their opening partnership failed as both openers walked away in the third over. After three wickets fall down quickly, Bangladesh Women captain Nigar Sultana scored 32 runs in 51 balls. Shorna Akter remained unbeaten on 19 runs in 18 balls. Other than them, no other batters able to make notable contributions.
On this matter, Nigar Sultana said, “We need to work on our batting unit. Just because of that, we are losing so many games. The coaching staff will come up with a good plan. It’s a good experience for us. Before the World Cup, we’ll try to rectify our mistakes.”
