Nikki Bella might want to ease off the gas, because her month on the road just came with two separate traffic stops and two tickets to show for it.
During The Nikki & Brie Show, Nikki admitted she was pulled over twice in the same month for speeding, and judging by her version of events, she still thinks the cops were playing fast and loose with the numbers.
The conversation started when Alex Labbé said he never speeds and always uses cruise control. Brie Bella then joked that Bryan Danielson drives so slow she has to remind him what the speed limit is. That’s when Nikki jumped in and basically admitted her foot has been a problem lately.
“I’m not going to lie, I have been pulled over twice this past month for speeding.”
Brie was stunned, but Nikki immediately tried to defend herself, calling the first stop “uncalled for.” The officer said she was doing 41 in a 25, but Nikki wasn’t buying that number. Her defense? She was only going 35.
“One was so uncalled for. He was, ‘You were going 41 in a 25.’ And I go, ‘Actually, actually I was going…’ I mean, I was going like 35.”
Brie pointed out the obvious: 35 in a 25 is still speeding. Nikki knew she wasn’t exactly winning that argument, but she still let the officer know she disagreed.
“No, but so in no ways I was like, ‘I’m not going to argue,’ but I did tell him, ‘I disagree.’”
Then came round two in Virginia. Nikki said another officer pulled her over and claimed she was going 75 in a 55. Once again, Nikki pushed back. Not because she was under the limit, but because she says she was only doing 70.
“I just got pulled over again in Virginia and I was like… he goes, ‘You were going 75 in a 55.’ And I was like… ‘Actually, no, I wasn’t. I was going 70.’”
That is not exactly the strongest legal defense ever, but Nikki kept going. She said she even questioned where the speed limit sign was before both officers allegedly softened their numbers.
“And then I was like, ‘But where was the sign?’ It was a freeway, in the woods, whatever. Did come back and one was like, ‘OK, well maybe you were going 38.’ And this one was like, ‘Well maybe you were going like 70 too.’ And I’m like, ‘So you don’t even know the exact speed I was going. It’s not the end of the month. Do you really need a ticket?’ But I got two tickets.”
Brie then delivered the reality check Nikki probably didn’t want to hear. “Oh gosh, your insurance is going up.” Nikki admitted she was pissed, even though she tried not to lose it.
“Thanks. I know. You know when you try not to get really mad but, like, you’re so mad.”
So there it is. Nikki Bella disagreed with the cops, disagreed with the radar, questioned the signs, and still walked away with two tickets in one month. The numbers may be up for debate, but the paperwork definitely wasn’t.
