North Delhi Strikers Triumph Over West Delhi Lions by 7 Wickets

Rain caused the Delhi Premier League match to be reduced to seven overs per side on Thursday, which helped North Delhi Strikers defeat West Delhi Lions by seven wickets.

The North Delhi Strikers’ combined bowling effort enabled them to restrict West Delhi Lions to 87 for seven in the first half. The winners called it right at the toss.

Anirudh Chowdhary, Suyash Sharma, and Aman Bharti each took two wickets for the Strikers, whose bowlers were precise. Anmol Sharma’s 11-ball 32 not out spared the blushes for the WDL.

Vaibhav Kandpal (4) rocked the North Delhi Strikers early in their reply, but Sarthak Ranjan (27, 14 balls, 3x4s) and Yajas Sharma (41 off 21 balls, 4x4s, 3x6s) put up a 73-run partnership for the second wicket that lay the groundwork for a victory.

North Delhi Strikers needed to score 11 runs off of the final five balls, so there was some late drama, but they were successful thanks to captain Pranshu Vijayan’s 3-ball 9.

Brief scores: West Delhi Lions 87/7 in 7 overs (Anmol Sharma 32*; Anirudh Chowdhary 2/27, Suyash Sharma 2/25, Aman Bharti 2/15) lost to North Delhi Strikers 88/3 in 7 overs (Sarthak Ranjan 27, Yajas Sharma 41) by 7 wickets.
