Blizzard has just released their latest Overwatch Hero trailer, showcasing Hero 52. Thanks to the trailer, gamers have a little more information about the character, such as an official confirmation of their name. There have been speculations and theories surrounding the new character for some time, but now it’s time to put them all to rest. Here’s everything we were able to gather from the Overwatch Hero 52 Shion Trailer.
Shion Overwatch Trailer
Originally leaked in a Chinese Overwatch server bug, it’s confirmed that Hero 52 is officially named Shion. In the newest Hero trailer released by Blizzard, we see the newest DPS facing off against Sojourn in their short “End of the Line.” In the trailer, gamers see more than a silhouette of Shion’s appearance. Shion is partially an omnic, with several cybernetic implants. The dead giveaway is her robotic voice, visible robot body, and prosthetics. This is paired with her bright red lights that flash upon her metallic parts and eyes, and her horns.

In terms of her background in Overwatch, Shion is described as the elder of the Hashimoto clan. In case you’re not familiar with Overwatch lore, the Hahimoto clan is a criminal organization with ties to Talon that has been going at it with the Shimada clan for years. This is Overwatch Heroes Genji’s and Hanzo’s clan.
Overwatch Shion Role And Abilities
As of right now, there has been no confirmation from Blizzard on what Shion’s potential roles and abilities might be. What we do currently know is that the elder will be wielding dual pistols. There’s speculation that they might have some sort of electrical abilities, but no grenade ability. Please take that with a grain of salt until confirmation is made.
Shion Overwatch Release Date
Hero 52 – Shion is scheduled to arrive in Overwatch’s Season 3: Into the Tiger’s Den when it launches on June 16. There is no set date for a showcase of Hero 52’s abilities.
