Packers Late-round Pick Could Be Green Bay’s Sleeper In 2026

The Packers‘ offensive line has been in a bit of a state of flux in recent years.

This fall, Jordan Morgan will be pressed into a prominent role, and the Packers are hoping to upgrade over Aaron Banks along the interior.

One unexpected player who could contribute immediately is already turning heads this spring during OTA and minicamp practices.

Fifth-round rookie Jager Burton has, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, taken first-team reps at both guard positions, and impressed head coach Matt LaFleur, in the process.

“I see a really young guy that’s extremely coachable, athletic, and is maximizing the most of his opportunities,” LaFLeur recently told reporters “So I think every practice he gets a little bit more comfortable, a little bit better, and I can see him, he’s definitely going to be in the mix to compete for playing time this year.”

Burton, 6-foot-4 and 323 pounds, has the chance to parlay his spring reps and a potential strong performance during training camp into becoming the Packers’ swing-guard this season, which would be a strong start for the fifth-round pick.
