The Green Bay Packers recently got a close look at nine players for tryouts during the team’s rookie minicamp over the weekend, and among those who gave it a shot was running back Isaiah Jacobs, the younger brother of Packers star running back Josh Jacobs.
Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur surely noticed Isaiah doing work in the minicamp, and he shared an interesting takeaway from what he saw, though it wasn’t exactly about football.
According to LaFleur, Isaiah and Josh look so alike that it’s easy to mistake one for the other.
“You almost have to do a double-take if you quickly glance that it wasn’t Josh out there. They look very, very similiar,” Green Bay insider Weston Hodkiewicz shared via a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
Packers did not sign Isaiah Jacobs, others after the weekend’s tryout at Green Bay rookie camp
Isaiah did not hear his name called during the 2026 NFL Draft, but at least he got a look from Green Bay. He will also have to look for work somewhere else, as he and the other players who tried out for the team over the weekend did not get signed by the NFC North Division franchise.
Isaiah played his first two seasons in college with the Maryland Terrapins before transferring to the UAB Blazers. He sustained season-ending injuries in 2023 and 2024, including a torn ACL.
In 30 games during his college stint with the Terps and the Blazers, Isaiah managed to collect 930 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 222 carries.
