It’s safe to say that head coach Matt LaFleur has at least one of the Packers‘ games circled in red.
There’s certainly no love lost between LaFleur and Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson, which was never more evident than the icy handshake between the two coaches after Green Bay’s season came careening to an end in an NFC Wild Card loss at Soldier Field back in January.
Safe to say that the feud is as intense as ever.
Packers’ Matt LaFleur takes aim at Bears’ Ben Johnson
After the Packers’ schedule was released, and includes a Christmas clash in Chicago against the Bears, LaFleur took a subtle jab at Johnson.
“We gotta give them a good Christmas present,” LaFleur said. “That’ll be an electric atmosphere, as it always is, and certainly there’s a lot of games prior to that date, but I’m sure it will be a meaningful game.”
NFC North Division games always carry more weight, but it is more evident than ever that within the Don Hutson Center, and in particular inside the head coach’s suite that games against the Bears are more intense than they have been in a long time, and this year’s clash on Christmas should carry significant playoff implications as well.
